Technology Market Overview Partnering News & Events About Matrix Sensors

Company Overview

Matrix Sensors is a venture-backed, development stage company dedicated to creating in vitro diagnostics and environmental sensing technology that is:

  • Flexible
  • Low Cost, microchip based
  • Small format, allowing point of care and mobile applications
  • Multiplexed, multiple assays on a single chip

At Matrix Sensors, our goal is to work with multiple partners to apply our chip based assays platform to develop commercially relevant assays for the detection of bio-molecules and other analytes of in the areas of life science bio-molecule and gas sensing measurements. We are able to flexible work with partners in funded pilot stage programs, or to develop products that specifically address a partners' particular technological needs, for example high throughput systems, single use devices, or chips that can be embedded in mobile devices.

Matrix Sensors provides innovative technologies in the areas of life science bio-molecule and gas sensing measurements. The Company was founded in March 2008 by Stanford Professors P. Khuri-Yakub and C. Quate, and J. Gimzewski of UCLA, Matrix Sensor's technology promises to be the first electronic microchip product featuring both ultra high analyte resolution and accuracy. The technology combines proven MEMS transducers pioneered at Stanford for ultrasound applications with proprietary surface chemistry from UCLA to achieve sub-picogram resolution of specific molecules of interest, including proteins, antibodies and bacteria in this new application mode.
