Products
Matrix Sensors products can be configured in a variety of ways. Both High Throughput Automated Systems and single use Point of Care (POC) systems are possible.
Diagnostics, Including POC
Many current diagnostics are run on high throughput platforms, using optically active reagents to report on a reaction product. Matrix Sensors platform provides direct chip-based electronic measurement of mass of desired reaction product with the same accuracy and sensitivity of current ELISA methodologies. Matrix Sensors can create a multiplexed profile grouping many complementary tests on a single chip.
The Matrix Sensor technology leverages billions of dollars of semiconductor R&D to potentially provide a faster and lower cost alternative to many current high throughput formats. Matrix has built a working prototype system that can be paired with an automated sample preparation system to provide high throughput assays in a label free assay system.
| Matrix Sensors Automated System
With the rising cost of healthcare, the need to move diagnostic testing from centralized laboratories to an outpatient or ambulatory testing site requires low cost, rapid diagnostic capabilities without compromising performance. This need has been the key driver for point-of-care (POC) testing in physician office labs, urgent care and outpatient settings. Thus, the POC diagnostic industry has been experiencing double-digit growth.
Matrix Sensors' technology can provide an inexpensive portable label-free format resulting in fast time to results, easy-to-use, and cost effective products that can meet the needs of this fast-growing industry. Our disposable sensor array format can be applied to such areas as biomarker identification and validation using highly sensitive and quantitative measurement of proteins and protein panels. |

Detection of Gases and Environmental Contaminants
Matrix Sensors' technology can also be deployed for gas sensing with applications in environmental and security monitoring. One such application is indoor air quality monitoring. Current air monitoring systems such as smoke detectors are not analyte specific. Matrix and its partner have identified the need for a high-density network capable of monitoring indoor air quality to provide energy efficient control of building air quality. Matrix Sensors plans to address this opportunity with a compact, low cost sensor-based product for gas monitoring and detection of airborne contaminants. A simple plug in device to measure airborne contaminants, similar to current air fresheners is entirely possible. Using a built-in wireless link, sensors can be networked to enable large area automated monitoring for the HVAC application as well as security surveillance in public places. Additionally, such sensors will be compact enough to embed in other devices, such as a smart phone, thus acting as a portable monitoring device, limited only be the on board application, the "APP".
