Position Description

Matrix Sensors, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to join the team driving the development of our revolutionary gas sensor technology.  

The successful candidate will partner with the VP of Technology to explore, prototype, test, and deploy sensor algorithms that ensure our sensors accurately report ambient gas concentrations for many years. This is a full-time, fully in-person position reporting to our VP of Technology at our San Diego, CA facility. We offer full benefits and a competitive salary.

Specific responsibilities include:

 Lead efforts to characterize the evolution of complex physics-based sensor models throughout the lifetime of a sensor
· Develop, prototype, and test adaptive algorithms that extend sensor lifetime  
· Validate the efficacy of the adaptive algorithms to extend usable sensor lifetime
· Optimize algorithms for simplicity, robustness, and longevity
· Provide inputs for optimizing firmware and hardware designs in support of new algorithms, new prototypes, and products
· Document algorithm architectures and implementations

Desired Skills:        
· Mastery of at least one programming language     
· Experience with developing, validating, and optimizing adaptive controls
· Experience architecting and deploying algorithms in software and firmware
· Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data to generate insights and conclusions

Key Qualifications:
·
 Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field, with at least 3 years of industry experience, or a PhD degree with at least 1 years of industry experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of industry experience.

· Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data to generate insights and conclusions

· Demonstrated success as an innovator
· Energetic self-starter who enjoys working within cross-functional teams
· Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
· Python proficiency
· Familiarity with Mathematica and LabView

Salary Range: $65,000-$135,000
