R&D Engineer

Technology Team

Position Description

The successful candidate will develop and execute research and development plans to model sensor-environment interactions, validate models in real-world conditions, and collaboratively develop sensor algorithms leading to accurate measurement of gas concentrations within the target environmental operating window.

This is a full-time, fully in-person position reporting to our VP of Technology at our San Diego, CA facility. We offer full benefits and a competitive salary.

Specific responsibilities include:
· Designing, conducting, and troubleshooting experiments to validate models of electrical and electromechanical chemical sensors
· Performing in-depth analyses of experimental data and proposing next steps
· Refining architectures and algorithms that enhance and prolong sensor accuracy
· Reporting results to internal and external stakeholders

Key Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field, with at least 5 years of industry experience, or a master's degree with at least 2 years of industry experience
· Advanced troubleshooting and debugging skills
· Experience designing and implementing basic signal processing blocks, such as filters and feedback loops
· Experience working within cross-functional teams
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Energetic and motivated self-starter
· Authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Proficiency in at least one programming language
· Familiarity with Python, Mathematica, and/or LabVIEW
