Engineering Team

Internship Description

Matrix Sensors, Inc. is seeking an independent, motivated individual to join our engineering team as a full-time intern for 12 weeks during summer 2023. This intern would report directly to the VP of Engineering at our San Diego, CA facility.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Develop or modify algorithms for data or signal processing tasks
• Implement algorithms in Python
• Perform basic statistical analyses on datasets
• Collaborate directly with members of the data-processing team to improve our calibration algorithms
• Supporting other team members with tasks as-needed

Desired skills:  
• Experience programming in Python
• Experience programming in C/C# (desired)
• Strong foundational understanding of general programming principles
• Data visualization experience
• Optimizing algorithms for speed and/or memory usage (desired)
• Great attention to detail
• Proactive problem-solving
• Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment
• Any experience with LabVIEW, Mathematica, or Arduino would be a bonus

Qualifications:
• Must be currently enrolled in or recently completed a university-level Applied Math, Math/CS, Data Science, Computer Science, or Software Engineering major
• Must be able to commit 40 hours in-person per week for 12 weeks
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
